Have you ever wondered how some brands are unknown and suddenly become successful overnight? With millions of active people and active businesses on social media, it can be staggering to think about how well you communicate in a way that grabs people’s attention.
It is a battle if you want to stand out in an over-saturated market. You have to put in a lot of time, effort, and hard work for your business to grow.
In this blog, I will reiterate simple ways to make your business stand out, especially on social media.
1. Be Original
- This is easier said than done, but this is a crucial step to be different from your competition. Don’t let it bother you if you cannot think of new ideas, new solutions for marketing, and other areas in business. Don’t try to mirror your competitor’s brand because people will just think it is not different from the brand they are using, so they will not even bother choosing you.
- Recognize your brands’ uniqueness. You should know the unique points of your business and what makes it different. Once you know it, you have to demonstrate those points all over your branding statements, visuals, and marketing strategies.
- Be confident in your brand.
- Test new ideas frequently.
2. Develop your Brand Voice
- Words are important for your brand identity. It can architecture the way your brand is recognized. But words are just words if they do not have a “tone of voice or brand voice.”
What is a brand voice? Brand voice is the way you talk to your customers and is defined by your brand's style of communication.
It is a process but once you get it, it will aid you in standing out from your competition.
3. Be Sincere
- Show your human side. Chat to your customers, like how you talk to an acquaintance. Be advising and conversational so your clients will understand that your intentions are genuine. If you replied the same way as everybody else, like a canned response, people will see you as a cold person that only cares about making a sale.
4. Be Transparent
- Business transparency is key to building both customer and organizational trust. This means you are not only showing your success but also admitting your mistakes and taking responsibility for them. Being transparent creates and maintains trusting customer relationships, which in turn builds loyalty and customer retention.
“If people like you they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.”
5. Your accounts in Social Media should have a theme
- Theming is a creative medium used to attract attention. So with that being said, your account should have a unique theme that will stand out. It should be pleasing to the eyes. It should echo your brand’s actions.
6. Be Understanding
- You should understand your target market. In this way, you can create something that will make it easier for your target audience to relate to you. Soon enough, this kind of communication will lead to more traffic and conversions.
7. Be Responsible
- Most people nowadays, when they do their shopping, just don’t think of the cost but they also think will it have a positive social, economic, and environmental impact. This is called Conscious Consumerism. This is the world we live in now and you as a business owner should know what you stand for and openly describe your core values so when customers are looking for a social, economic, and/or environment-friendly company, they will connect and engage with you. “If people believe they share values with a company, they will stay loyal to the brand.”
- Howard Schultz
8. Well-made Visuals
- People gravitate to well-made visuals alongside your brand voice. Make your images and videos in high quality. Be ingenious in creating your visuals.
9. Be Consistent
- Consistency is the key to success. Your brand has to have a clear representation of who you are to get your audiences to remain as long as possible.
So the bottom line is don’t do things the same way as your competitors because your brand will not be recognized by many and it will not stand out. I hope that this post triggered some creative ideas that you can carry out with your brand or business.
